TOKYO, July 27 Asia Pulse - President Chen Shui-bian said Tuesday he believes that the more firmly Japan sticks to its guns, the higher the esteem in which China would hold Japan.
Chen was responding to a question about Taiwan-Japan-China ties during a video conference from his office with members of the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan (FCCJ).
Noting that Taiwan is Japan's best friend, Chen said he is hopeful that substantive relations between Taiwan and Japan can become ever closer for mutual benefits.
