JAKARTA, July 27 Asia Pulse - Indonesia's wheat flour imports are expected to increase by 43 per cent to 700,000 tons annually which would make the country the world`s biggest wheat flour importer, despite its position as one of world`s major producers of the commodity.
"In the first quarter of this year our wheat flour imports have jumped by 70 per cent to 180,000 tons, compared to the imports in the same period of last year. This volume would equal about 700,000 tons," chairman of the Association of Indonesian Wheat Flour Producers (Aptindo), Franciscus Welirang, said at the launching of an export of 20,000 tons of wheat flour to Libya here on Tuesday.
