LOCAL hero Clark Riddick caused a sensation at Southerness yesterday when he dumped Open star Lloyd Saltman out of the Allied Surveyors Scottish Amateur championship.

Riddick, a former Southerness club champ, battled to a 3 and 2 win over the Open Silver Medallist - then revealed he was more concerned with not making a fool of himself than claiming the scalp of the UK's top amateur.
