Jul. 27--Almost two years after opening, the Nebraska Furniture Mart in Kansas City, Kan., will build a 360,000-square-foot addition to an existing warehouse.

The expansion, which will cost $26 million, will allow the Mart to stock and deliver more furniture, flooring, electronics and appliances, said Robert Batt, executive vice president.

"We are investing in our future," Batt said. He said sales at the 712,000-square-foot store -- which opened on Aug. 1, 2003, at the intersection of Interstates 435 and 70 -- were "over all of our expectations."
