NOW we really have had them all - there's been the Atkins diet, the GI diet, the Greek doctor's diet and now, the Jesus diet. All the rage in the U.S., it is an eating plan devised by Dr Don Colbert, a Christian GP whose wife, Mary, is a minister.

His book, What Would Jesus Eat? claims to be an 'owner's manual for the human body, straight from the manufacturer - based on God's teaching and Jesus's own example'.

We should be asking the Lord what to eat to be slim, it seems.
