Jul. 29--University of Central Florida trustees on Thursday endorsed building new joint-use facilities at Valencia and Seminole community colleges to expand the number of bachelor's-degree offerings at each school.

The facilities, if approved by state legislators, would cost about $43 million, with UCF splitting the costs with each campus.

The effort comes at a time when some community colleges have opted to offer their own four-year degrees, including Daytona Beach Community College, which is adopting the new name Daytona College.
