'FLUKE' CRASH KILLS DIRT BIKE RIDER; ORRIN DANIEL GOTT HAD BEEN RIDING DIRT BIKES SINCE THE AGE OF 4, RELATIVE SAYS.(Local)

A former motocross pro was killed Wednesday night in what authorities called "a fluke" dirt bike accident.

Orrin Daniel Gott, 27, of Juddville Road, Cazenovia, was riding on a trail near Hughes Road in Nelson when he jumped two berms and struck his throat on the unpadded handlebars of his 1994 Honda 120 dirt bike. He complained of trouble breathing and then collapsed, never regaining consciousness, troopers said.

Morrisville firefighters tried to resuscitate Gott before an ambulance took him to Community Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of death was listed as cardiac arrest brought on by trachea ...
