Citroen UK has appointed Xavier Duchemin as managing director, following the promotion of Alain Favey to head of Citroen Italy, the company's third-largest market. Duchemin takes over on September 1.
Duchemin has been with Citroen for 14 years, holding a variety of roles in sales, marketing, replacement parts and human resources at the Paris head office as well as offices around Europe.
He was last promoted in January 2004 to managing director of Citroen Austria, where he oversaw sales growth of 16 per cent to give the company a record market share of 4.1 per cent.
