As, yes FELA. It's still here, as it has been since 1908. Still costing the railroads $1 billion or more a year. Still pitting employees against employers. Still promoting adversarial relationships. Still making a lot of personal injury lawyers rich. Still being an unfair system, but one that has been totally resistant to change.
Railroads have tried to win repeal or reform of FELA during the past decade when there was a presumably sympathetic Republican in the White House, but it was to no avail.
