Westchester Medical Center is still counting on its unionized employees to help pull it out of its financial mess. Its "Operation Cure" bailout plan unveiled in February includes $10 million in concessions from unions representing most of the medical center's employees.
Last week the medical center offered a potential olive branch to one union when it decided not to outsource the patient accounts department and its 60 jobs. That earned the medical center some unusual public praise from one of the unions, the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA).
