Oregon, widely acknowledged as a leader in workers' compensation reform, intends to be the first state in the nation to test a 24-hour coverage program, combining workers' comp. and group health insurance.
A $336,000 grant from the Robert Wood Foundation to the Oregon Department of Insurance and Finance to fund an 18-month pilot project will make the experiment possible, the department said.
While other states have passed legislation on 24-hour coverage, including Florida, California and Maine, they have vet to implement any program. Therefore, Oregon maintains that while legislation has not vet been passed, it will be the first state to have a pilot ...
