Aug. 1--Each morning for many years, Diann Cecil has arrived at the Owensboro Police Department and greeted officers on the morning shift at the start of their day and night officers as they close out theirs.
"When I see the guys, I always tell them, 'Be careful, be safe,' " said Cecil, secretary for the department's support services division.
But this morning, officers won't begin their days with the sight of Cecil coming through the department's doors. She begins her retirement after nearly 19 years with the department.
Cecil will still be wishing them well.
