Moody's Investors Service upgraded Bank of Boston Corp.'s senior debt by two notches on Wednesday, to Baa1 from Baa3.
In addition, the agency raised Bank of Boston's subordinated debt and preferred stock to investment grade. The subordinated rating was raised to Baa2 from Ba1. Cumulative preferred stock was raised to Baa2 from Ba1. The commercial paper grade was increased to P2 from P3.
