Research has focused on parents' influence on adolescents' risky health behaviors. (1,2) Although parental influence on college students' health risk behaviors is critical, researchers have not extensively studied such influence. Parenting does not cease when the child leaves home for college, and discussions between parents and college student children about health still occur.
