Aug. 2--Businesses and government agencies are increasingly the target of computer security attacks, according to a report by IBM's Global Services division.
The division, which monitors and maintains business networks in Boulder, said attacks in the networks it handles are up more than 50 percent in the first half of this year compared with the last six months of 2004.
The report, called the Global Business Security Index, measures security attacks in broad terms, ranging from reconnaissance work by hackers to see if there are security flaws, to breaking into a network and stealing private information.
