Even though it wasn't a single discrete event, one of the top news stories of the week on the Ohio side of the river was the battle between Jean Schmidt and Paul Hackett for the 2nd Congressional District seat.
Schmidt, a Republican, and Hackett, a Democrat, are competing in Tuesday's special election for the unexpired term of Rob Portman, who resigned to become President Bush's trade representative.
