Consumers are confused about their cropped digital photographs

When buying a digital model, most consumers have no idea what the camera's aspect ratio is--the width-to-length ratio of the photo produced by the camera's imaging sensor.

For example, many digital cameras have a 4:3 aspect ratio, while a 35mm negative has a 3:2 ratio.

A dilemma arises when prints are made from digital camera image files. Let's go back to the familiar 35mm negative.
