NEW YORK -- Now that it's been in business for a year, Halston Borghese Inc. is about to make its first major move in a long-term bid to become an key player.
On May 2, the firm will introduce Catalyst, the first heavily supported Halston launch since the introduction of Halston 1/12 and Halston Z-14 in 1976. Four other scents were launched in the Eighties, but were discontinued after relatively brief periods.
The new company also is looking into the possibility of re-establishing the Halston fashion business, according to Michael Marten, the year-old company's president and chief executive officer.
