GLENN CAMPBELL was last night dreaming of a No1 smash hit after he stormed into the final of the Allied Surveyors Scottish Amateur Championship at Southerness.
Everyone was singing the praises of the Blairgowrie man after he saw off two seeded favourites - Scott Jamieson (Cathkin Braes) at the 21st in the quarterfinals and then Eric Ramsay (Carnoustie) by 3 and 2 to set up today's 36-hole shootout with Ben Shamash from Kirkcudbright.
The only person apparently not overly impressed was the 32-year-old Murrayshall greenkeeper himself. The plus-four handicapper described his match-winning form as: 'just the usual down- the- middle stuff', ignoring the fact ...
