A national financing rating agency has removed Onondaga County from its watch list for a possible downgrade of its bond rating, giving the county the strong rating it did last year.
Moody's Investor Service gave Onondaga County an "Aa2" rating once again.
"A dark cloud has been lifted from our credit rating," said Joe Mareane, the county's chief fiscal officer.
Often being placed on a watch list is a signal your rating will be knocked down next time it's evaluated, Mareane said.
Being taken off the watch list is very good news for county taxpayers, he said.
