With exquisite old buildings, scenic bridges and intoxicating aromas of grapes ripening on vines, cheeses aging in caves and crusty bread baking in brick ovens, Europe casts a romantic spell on the senses. Under that spell, couples fall in love all over again.
It has that effect every time we visit, which makes the task of choosing favorite spots so difficult. Our preferences range from towns so tiny they hardly merit a mark on the map to large cities that have been attracting romantics for years.
