Wherever he goes in the world, Chandra Viswanathan makes sure he's able to play cricket.
Viswanathan, of Blaine, stumbled into the sport at age 8 in his native India. When his career took him to Malaysia, he found enough people to play. When he came to the United States in 1999, he joined the Minnesota Cricket Association.
Abhi Surve, who lives in Shoreview, also spends his summer weekends playing his first sport. Like Viswanathan, he came to the area for an information technology job. He, too, found out about cricket on a website. In addition to playing, he's also the association's head umpire.
