A HEAVILY pregnant woman who was due to be induced had the birth halted three times after a catalogue of failures at a flagship health service hospital.

Michelle Clarke, 24, was forced to wait five days before she could give birth because of a shortage of midwives and an overcrowded delivery suite.

Yesterday Mrs Clarke told how her ordeal at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital amounted to ' mental and physical torture' as the induction was continually started only to be halted.
