BRITISH Airways today smashed City analysts' profit forecasts for the first three months of its financial year but warned it was too early to predict the impact on bookings of the London bombings.
Although record July passenger numbers proved people did not stop travelling immediately, there may still be a long-term impact, BA warned.
Delivering his last set of figures before he hands over the reins to former Aer Lingus boss Willie Walsh, chief executive Rod Eddington said: "When taken together with the uncertain economic outlook and volatility in fuel prices and the dollar exchange rate, accurate forecasting is even more of a challenge than usual."
