Elk Grove Village is collecting donations for a memorial statue dedicated to the village's four fallen soldiers and a scholarship fund.
Donations to the memorial fund should be sent to the Elk Grove Solider Memorial, c/o Elk Grove Village Hall, 901 Wellington Ave, Elk Grove Village, 60007.
Elk Grove Village officials want to raise more than $100,000.
In an effort to raise money, the village will throw a Halloween family costume party from 2 to 5 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Elk Grove Park District Pavilion. A yet-to-be-named big-ticket item will be raffled off, and there will be a silent auction.
