WHILE THE Fil-sham controversy may have somewhat affected the gate of the PBA for the past few years, Fil-American hopeful Anthony Washington said he hopes that the entry of the younger batch of rookies could help restore the image of the professional league.

Washington, a 67" swingman who led Welcoat to the 2005 PBL Unity Cup title two months ago, told sportswriters in yesterdays SCOOP sa Kamayan that it was "sad that fake Fil-foreign players have made (themselves) look bad to the public."

"Its sad because the fake Fil-Ams have made all of us young Fil-Ams look bad. It puts all of us on the same boat. I dont know what to do ...
