CHICAGO _ The save for Sunday's 3-1 White Sox victory over Seattle will go to Dustin Hermanson for a perfect ninth inning.
But every member of the Sox, and all 35,706 who watched at U.S. Cellular Field, know who the real savior was: Aaron Rowand.
It won't show up in any box score or on any statistics sheet, but Rowand's eighth-inning, wall-banging catch in center field with two Mariners on base saved the game. It allowed the Sox to win their 23rd series of the season and improve their baseball-best record in sunshine to 27-13.
