Until very recently, projectors were reserved either for the boardroom, or the home cinema enthusiast with money to burn. However, the price of projectors has fallen to a point where they are now a viable option when considering a new screen. What's more, they're smaller than the designs of the past, and designed to fit in with existing home entertainment products. Prices for an acceptable model for the living room start at about [pounds sterling]900 (such as the NEC HT410) but can rise up to [pounds sterling]28,000 (Sony Qualia 004).
Nevertheless, nothing beats a projector for that traditional cinematic experience. Like a CRT, LCD, ...
