What began as a sliver of the market for only the highest-end kitchens more than two decades ago has today become a mainstay of kitchen and bathroom design, according to LouAnn Sago, a kitchen and bath consultant for Elkay. Stainless steel remains the most common new kitchen sink material in both new home construction and residential remodeling projects, says Sago.
One new design trend that Sago notes is reflected in a new hand-fabricated sink collection. The Elkay Avado kitchen sink collection features striking square and rectangular bowl geometry with dramatic 90-degree or "zero-radius" corners for deeper, more efficient bowls.
