The Salmon River is being hit by 6,000 gallons of water every second this weekend, delighting white-water sport enthusiasts.
For the fourth time this summer, Brascan Power is letting water flow from the Lighthouse Hill hydroelectric plant in Orwell. The release creates Class II and Class III rapids on the Salmon River, drawing visitors throughout the state to raft, kayak and canoe.
Most visitors go rafting as part of a guided trip by rafting companies, such as Adventure Calls Outfitters and Whitewater Challengers.
