Aug. 8--For more than a decade, this community has had casual conversations about the need for a recreation center.
That talk now has turned serious.
Last week a group of city officials and residents took a tour of several Colorado recreation centers. That tour reinforced the need for a recreation center in Cheyenne.
It seems strange that Wyoming's capital city -- and its largest city --doesn't have a recreation center. Other communities much smaller than Cheyenne have recreation centers, and they have proven to be popular. Those communities include Casper, Green River, Rock Springs, Cody and, most recently, Laramie.
