Schizophrenia is a chronic brain disorder that is progressively debilitating unless professional help is sought. While there is still no known cure for this severe mental illness, the good news is that new advances in medications and other treatments can help alleviate many severe symptoms of the disease. New and safer medications are rolling out to market with greater frequency, and many have fewer side effects than traditional treatments.
