The White Sox didn't have much offensively Sunday, but they had Jon Garland and Aaron Rowand.
And that was enough.
Garland became the American League's first 16-game winner, giving up just 3 hits over his first 7 innings. Rowand then saved the game with a remarkable catch in the eighth inning when Garland finally got into a little bit of trouble.
As a result, the White Sox took a 3-1 decision from the Seattle Mariners, earning their 72nd win on the day the organization honored No. 72, Carlton Fisk, by unveiling a statue of the Hall of Fame catcher on the outfield concourse.
