If panoramic views and the grand style are what you are looking for in a Geneva hotel, then this one is not for you. But even those who can afford it don't necessarily want to shell out for it these days, according to Paris-based Suitehotel Chairman and General Manager Olivier Devys.

Corporate travel budgets have been slashed but, more to the point, according to Devys, many people no longer feel the need to match their consumption to their rank or earnings. "Our research shows that fewer and fewer people identify themselves with their job or title. Today, it's me--not my status."
