Reader Joe Doherty dismisses Congress' investigation to find out if Rafael Palmeiro actually lied to them regarding personal steroid use, saying it's an allegation, and who cares?
Then Doherty lists some 10 things from a political playbook and says our Congress has chosen not to investigate. Not so. All of the situations he lists have been investigated by Congress to whatever extent is deserved.
Who cares? Congress held hearings in the spring on steroid use in baseball. The questions from both sides of the aisle left no doubts Congress cared. They were pointed, deliberate, detailed, serious. This was no tea party.
