The international contributions collected here bear witness to the ongoing interest in Camus's unfinished recit d'enfance, Le Premier Homme, a decade after its original publication in France. Yosei Matsumoto examines the genesis of the work by drawing on the author's Carnets, where notes for the project are abundant.
