CHICAGO -- Homi Patel, currently president of Hartmarx Corp., has added the post of chief operating officer.
The chief operating officer position has been vacant since last summer, when Bert Hand, the previous holder of the office, was named chief executive officer of Hartmarx.
Patel has been with the Hartmarx organization since 1979. He has served in a number of top executive positions with various divisions including Fashionaire, Austin Reed, Intercontinental and Branded Apparel. In 1987, he was named executive vice-president of Men's Apparel Group. Patel was elevated to president of the Group in 1990 and made its chairman/CEO in 1991.
