The new director of the Association for the Study of Afro-American Life and History (ASALH) has hit the ground running by continuing the center's contributions to Black History Month. The theme for the 68th annual Black History Month celebration is "Afro-American Scholars, Leaders, Activists and Writers," explained Dr. Janette Hoston Harris.
Harris, a nationally respected historian and writer, is the first woman in 42 years elected to head one of the nation's foremost institutions dedicated to the history and progress of Black Americans.
