Aug. 13--Retired U.S. Postal Service worker Jerry Whisman has eaten at Waffle House in Knoxville nearly every day for the last 28 years.

"There are a lot of restaurants, but you can't beat the service here," he said.

When he started eating at Waffle House on Papermill Drive in 1977, he would order sausage and hash browns, but now at age 63, he orders eggs, tomatoes and coffee daily because he is watching his diet.

Whisman was drawn to Waffle House because he worked an afternoon shift and his wife worked morning and she wasn't there to make his breakfast.
