Extra work on Santa Fe's new civic center could mean the project would wind up costing $56 million, close to its maximum budget of $57 million.
Finance director Kathryn Raveling told the City Council's public works committee last week that additional work approved by the committee could add $1 million to $2 million to the civic center's estimated cost of $54 million.
