Fairfield County businesses aren't exactly beating down insurance agents' doors to demand terrorism insurance, even after last month's bombings in London. But they're not opting out of coverage if given the opportunity, either.
"American business is sensitive to costs, and they don't see a terrorist attack as a direct threat to their own business," said Jim Arconti, vice president of the Rose and Kiernan Inc. insurance agency in Danbury. "Like any risk management approach, you can always self-insure and folks seem to be self-insuring for terrorism insurance, at least in the Danbury area."
