Aug. 16--CERRO GORDO -- School board member Rodd Runyen said Monday that the Cerro Gordo school board violated the Open Meetings Act and "deceived" the community in recent months, making deals outside the public eye with school administrators.
"I feel the whole process of hiring new administrators for this district has been an act of deception on the people of the Cerro Gordo School District," Runyen told about 20 community members who came to a special school board meeting Monday at Cerro Gordo High School.
Those in attendance included teachers, a former school board member and business owners.
