A couple of years back, a friend and I went trout fishing on a cold, blustery April Sunday on Massachusetts' Deerfield River.
"What are you going to use?" my buddy Jack asked as we drove to the river.
"I don't think it matters, to tell you the truth," I said. "I just called up the district office, and they've been stocking all week. Night crawlers should be just fine."
