After two lawsuits and years of complaints by minority contractors who say they haven't been given a fair shake at bidding for city contracts, the St. Paul Human Rights Commission is ready to listen.
It will hold two public hearings this month for people who believe they have been discriminated against in employment or contracting with the city of St. Paul.
The hearings will run from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday and Aug. 30 in Rooms 40A and B at the St. Paul City Hall/Ramsey County Courthouse, 15 W. Kellogg Blvd.
The 11-member commission is appointed by Mayor Randy Kelly and approved by the City Council. ...
