When Rodney Woods suffered a torn ligament in his knee during fall camp last year, it was the kind of situation that typically would have led to long, heartfelt conversations in which his older brother, Michael, would calm his doubts and lift his spirits.
The two were separated by just two years, and connected both by name and a passion for football. Growing up in southern California, the younger Woods looked to his brother for guidance, and tried to mimic him when he was old enough to play in a Pop Warner league.
