With heightening interest in twin-row corn and new equipment to do the job, we devoted several sets of Farm Journal Field Tests in 2004 to paired corn rows. The efforts focused on the elements needed to make twin rows count: planting populations, hybrid selection, and the rates and placement for starter, insecticide and nitrogen. Each variable was tested in a wide range of soils and growing conditions.
