Comparisons of conventional wide-row corn and twin rows have Leonard Robison, Bloomfield, Iowa, thinking twin rows deserve a much bigger test in 2005. "One report says there is a yield advantage for twin rows, and the next one says there isn't," Robison says. "I decided to find out for myself."
Using three hybrids, Robison planted single 38" rows across one half of a 100-acre field and twin 7" rows on 38" centers in the other half.
