Hamilton College held its first contested board of trustees election in 30 years this week, and none of the four independent candidates won seats on the school's governing board.
The college announced Wednesday that the three candidates backed by Hamilton Alumni Council Deborah Forte, Gregory Hoogkamp and Susan Bacot each won four-year terms that begin immediately, said college spokeswoman Vige Barrie.
The independent candidates Ben Wu, Brendan McCormick, James Coupe and Gregory Doyle had petitioned to be included on the ballot, citing a need for change in leadership at the school. They questioned the ...
