SMITHFIELD-Jim and Elaine Abicht want Smithfield to ring with music - from nationally known performers to the kid on the corner with a guitar.
Smithfield Music, a community program of the Isle of Wight Arts League , is the new organization they founded late last year to make the music happen.
On Saturday evening, Smithfield Music will sponsor its first concert, a performance by Canadian blues man Colin Linden at the Smithfield Little Theater.
Linden, 45, has appeared on 150 albums and the soundtrack for the hit movie "O Brother, Where Art Thou?"
