Barkers falls victim to High Street crash.

ANOTHER of Britain's department stores is to close, it emerged yesterday.

House of Fraser is shutting the doors of Barkers, in Kensington, after 135 years.

The West London shop will close in January, along with HoF's flagship Dickins & Jones store in Regent Street.

The news sparked fears for the company's other department stores, which include Jenners and Rackhams. All are being scrutinised in an internal review.

The Army & Navy flagship store in London's Victoria has already been rebranded as House of Fraser, and the company has pledged to rebrand any branches it renovates in the coming years.
